At Port In The Storm (PITS for short) we offer an innovative way to provide support that fills the void between these two extremes. We want to help you navigate your particular circumstances in a way that doesn’t put your financial security at risk.
We offer support tailored to your situation, rather than the often generic free advice found elsewhere. We are interested in your personal storm. Whether it’s just an impartial view, or more tactical support, we’re here to provide that check-in point for when it all gets a bit overwhelming and you just need a Port In The Storm.
The life storms we’re talking about can really be anything that is making your life more difficult than usual. Employment, housing, probate, complaints… the list goes on.

At PITS we’re in a great position to identify commonalities between people’s unique storms. It’s easy to feel alone in a challenging situation, wondering “why me?” and yet it may not just be you.
If you have a complaint with an organisation then maybe you’re not the only one. If we spot a trend then we can look to take this forward to try to change things – whether that’s directly challenging the organisation or raising it with a governing body, for example.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that your story has to be shared but you can help us to paint a bigger picture.
We try to keep our fees as affordable as possible and one way we do that is with the helping hand of our amazing volunteers.
If you’re an empathic people person then you could help with our front line support. Or maybe you prefer to be in the background – there’s plenty to do there too.
